The No. 1 seed prevailed over the No. 2 seed in a match ultimately decided by Zverev’s discomfort when coming forward, Sinner’s underrated first serve, and a kiss of death from the net.

Alexander Zverev did not win the first Grand Slam title of his career even at the 2025 Australian Open. The German champion was an underdog against Jannik Sinner in the final, but he thought he could put the world number 1 in serious trouble and maybe achieve a feat that would change his career.
