The first 12-team version of the College Football Playoff has reached the national championship game and it will be Notre Dame against heavily favored Ohio State. The tantalizing matchup comes after some wondered if the CFP selection committee got it right.

After winning the Orange Bowl, Notre Dame advanced to the National Championship in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. They had a day to wait to find out who they would play in the title game and, in the end, it ended up being Ohio State, coincidentally the alma mater of head coach Marcus Freeman.
