Over 150 express and passenger trains passing through the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction have been cancelled due to Cyclone Dana, scroll down for more updates.

The deep depression in the east-central Bay of Bengal intensified into cyclonic storm Dana at around 5.30 am on Wednesday, and is centred at around 560 km from Odisha's Paradip and 630 km from Sagar Island,

IMD DG Mrutunjay Mohapatra said that the entire eastern coast from Puri in Odisha and Sagar Island in the West Bengal coast is likely to be impacted by the impending cyclone Dana.

Rescue teams, including personnel from the NDRF have reached both the states and educational institutions have been shut, as Cyclone Dana will likely make landfall in Odisha's Puri and Bengal's Sagar Island on Thursday evening.

The storm is likely to move in a northwestward direction, intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm over northwest Bay of Bengal and cross the Odisha – West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island in the early hours of October 25 with wind speeds of up to 120 kmph, the IMD added.

It is expected to cross the northern Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island during the night of October 24 and the morning of October 25 as a severe cyclonic storm, with wind speeds reaching 100-110 km/h.
