Amid rising concerns over the readiness of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 venues in the country, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore would be handed over to the ICC on February 11,

The renovation work going on at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium has reached the final stages with only the finishing touches left.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video of their new-look Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday, January 30 ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Ahead of the mega event, there have been massive scrutiny on the preparedness of the PCB to host the tournament due to the incomplete renovation work of the stadiums.

Meanwhile, a board source told PTI that after Pakistan's tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, the Gaddafi Stadium will be handed over to the ICC on February 11 'for branding and other preparations'. The same source also revealed that "final touches" are being applied to the Gaddafi Stadium.

Lahore will also witness the PCB and ICC releasing the schedule of the captains press conference and photoshoots ahead of the tournament opener

Gaddafi Stadium will first host a tri-nation series featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, followed by the Champions Trophy, starting February 19. The first match of the 2025 Champions Trophy at Gaddafi Stadium will be played between England and Australia on February 22.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), along with the International Cricket Council (ICC), will host the opening ceremony of the 2025 Champions Trophy on February 16. The ceremony will be held at Huzoori Bagh, inside the historic Lahore Fort.

The deadline for the renovation of Lahore’s stadium ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy has reportedly been extended once again, with new concerns emerging about the readiness of the venue. Pakistan has repeatedly failed to meet the deadline and it raises questions about whether grounds will be completed in time.
