The Battleship Texas Foundation's proposed contract with the Galveston Wharves Board was not to the board's liking, and the deal was killed Tuesday afternoon.

Battleship Texas hosted U.S. Navy dignitaries Wednesday during Navy Week in Galveston. The battleship is one of the last remaining vessels to survive World War I and II. The vessel became part of the community outreach event celebrating and honoring the Navy.

The Battleship Texas has been undergoing renovations and repairs in Galveston since August 2022, but the plan to find it a forever home seems to be snagged in a battle of its own.
