Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian made the move late in the second quarter with his top-ranked team trailing No. 5 Georgia 20-0. The Texas offense had just 33 yards of total offense with Ewers at the helm, adding two turnovers. After a three and out led to another Georgia field goal, Manning replaced the junior as the Longhorns' signal-caller.

Steve Sarkisian made it very clear that Quinn Ewers was not to blame for the Texas Longhorns loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
