Despite being "neutrals", no Indian ICC match officials will travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced a list of 15 match officials, including three match referees and 12 umpires for the Champions Trophy 2025

Gambhir, known for his fearless approach both as a player and now as a coach, had stated that India’s group-stage game against Pakistan carries the same importance as any other match in the competition. However, Shastri, speaking on The ICC Review, hinted that while such statements are necessary in a professional setting, the reality is different.

No Indians were named in the list of match officials for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. According to a PTI report, India’s Nitin Menon opted out of the tournament. Former India cricketer and current ICC match referee Javagal Srinath too didn’t find a place.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19, with Pakistan hosting the tournament. Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a mega announcement regarding the grand opening ceremony.
