Zack Baun was an afterthought of a free agent signing. Now, he's a first-team All-Pro after a breakout season for Vic Fangio and the Eagles.
In the Eagles’ NFC Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers on January 12, Baun logged eight tackles, one interception, and one pass deflection. Baun had six tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass defended in the divisional-round win over the Rams.
The Eagles added a pair of NFC South linebackers in Devin White and Zack Baun as free agents, but each came to Philadelphia with plenty to prove. White had a rough final two seasons in Tampa Bay after a hot start to his career, while Baun struggled to hold down a starting role in four seasons with the Saints.
One of the biggest reasons for their resurgence on that side of the ball under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has been the emergence of linebacker Zack Baun. Baun wasn't even a full time off-ball linebacker before this season, but he has blossomed to one of the best in the league at his position.
