Tsyplakov's hit on Poehling from the Flyers’ 5-3 win Thursday over the Islanders was deemed illegal by the NHL Department of Player Safety.

The Philadelphia Flyers (21-20-6) practiced at their training facility Monday ahead of Tuesday night’s matchup against the 21-21-4 Detroit Red Wings.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced Monday that center Ryan Poehling has been added to the injured reserve with an upper-body injury. In a corresponding roster move, center Rodrigo Abols has been recalled from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The Flyers were forced to play a vigorous game Thursday night at Madison Square Garden and it resulted in a 6-1 loss to the Rangers.

Up comes the 29-year-old Abols, who receives the first recall of his professional career. A seventh-round pick of the Canucks back in 2016, they let his signing rights lapse before he landed an entry-level contract with the Panthers in the 2019 offseason.

The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled forward Rodrigo Abols from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, it was announced Monday. Abols, who hails from Riga, Latvia, has spent the entire season with the Phantoms, collecting nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 34 regular season games.

While the New York Islanders and the NHL thought Tsyplakov's hit was clean, the Philadelphia Flyers certainly disagreed.
