The Los Angeles-based Drug Enforcement Administration headquarters said it’s cooperating with federal law enforcement entities on immigration enforcement efforts.

Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, appointed by President Donald Trump, will oversee the efforts of the FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshall Service, and federal prosecutors.

Border czar Tom Homan told NBC News that several people with criminal convictions were apprehended in Chicago.

Nearly 1,000 people were arrested by federal agencies in a blitz to enforce immigrations policies across the United States, according to multiple reports.

Immigration operations were taking place all over the country less than a week after President Trump was sworn in.
