Anyone hoping for abundant nods to James Gunn’s Superman probably wasn’t fulfilled, but plenty of fun Man of Steel nods were still on display, as well as a particularly stellar “Martha” joke that was all-too-reminiscent of The Penguin ’s finale. HBO Max’s Harley Quinn may have taken a longer-than-normal hiatus, but their return didn’t miss a beat. The season started by quickly giving fans a recap of what happened to the Gotham City Sirens then moved into the theme of the episode.
