Paramount has officially revealed a release date for the next Sonic the Hedgehog film, which is coming in March 2027.

The fourth film in the Paramount Pictures franchise has grossed a series-best $422 million in theaters and generated more than $180 million in home entertainment rentals and purchases.

A release date has been set for the fourth Sonic the Hedgehog film which will introduce some more iconic characters from the video game franchise.

Paramount has announced the digital release date of Sonic 3 for Jan 21, 2025, with physical copies out on April 15, 2025. The wait is over for fans of the Blue Blur! Following its triumphant box office journey, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is finally gearing up for its digital debut, bringing the high-speed adventure straight to your screens.

Directed by Jeff Fowler, who has directed all three films in the series, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 stars Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Krysten Ritter, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, with James Marsden with Tika Sumpter with Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves, who joins the all-star cast as Shadow the Hedgehog.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set to hit theaters on March 2027. According to Variety, Paramount has scheduled the next Sonic movie to hit the big screen on March 19, 2027 give us two years until we see the blue blur back in action.

The news comes in the wake of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 becoming the highest installment in the franchise with $218.8M domestic, $422.3M worldwide. The entire SEGA branded feature franchise counts $1.1 billion at the global box office.
