The University of South Carolina on Sunday apologized for its arena DJ playing a song by the late father of a Louisiana State University player, moments after a big women's basketball victory by the Gamecocks over the Tigers.

South Carolina's DJ played an instrumental song from the deceased father of LSU's Flau'Jae Johnson and was suspended after the incident.

South Carolina issued an apology to LSU and Tigers junior guard Flau'Jae Johnson on Sunday in response to the Gamecocks' DJ playing a song by Johnson's late father at the end of Friday's game between the teams at Colonial Life Arena.

Following the Tigers' loss to the Gamecocks, the DJ played a song by Johnson's late father in the arena and later made insensitive comments on social media.

The athletic department at the University of South Carolina has suspended its arena DJ and has issued a formal apology toward Flau’Jae Johnson for playing a song by her late father after a game.
