Fifteen minutes before the world premiere of "Twinless," a dark comedy that sees "The Maze Runner" star playing a character who is grieving the loss of his twin brother, the actor was practically giddy as he talked about the film.

I hope that is not the fate of Twinless, a singular, beguiling film. Writer-director James Sweeney, who also co-stars, does trade in some of the stereotypical quirk and tic of Park City ephemera. But he deftly stitches those fabrics into something new,
