Governor Walz’s party has lost control of the Minnesota Legislature and faces mounting criticism as a budget deficit looms.

Martin is one of several candidates seeking to replace current DNC current chairman Jamie Harrison, of South Carolina, who is not seeking re-election.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the party’s most recent nominee for Vice President, wants David Hogg to be the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) next Vice Chair. Walz believes Hogg has a “unique ability to connect with the American people and to speak to the strengths of our party.”

The Minnesota governor and 2024 vice-presidential contender became the highest-profile Democrat to back Mr. Martin, one of the front-runners vying to run the party’s national committee.
