The fourth film in the Paramount Pictures franchise has grossed a series-best $422 million in theaters and generated more than $180 million in home entertainment rentals and purchases.

The Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie has been given a release date from Paramount, pinning the next film in the franchise for a 2027 launch.

The studio announced the fourquel in the Sega video game-inspired series even before the third “Sonic the Hedgehog” adventure hit the big screen.

March 19th, 2027, according to Variety. Right around the release of the very successful Sonic the Hedgehog 3 last December, news hit that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was in the works, but at the time, the movie only had a spring 2027 release window.
