A remarkable showing of support for those impacted by Hurricane Helene in Buncombe County has not only filled hearts and stomachs, but also all of the county's storage space.

The medical examiner's office has examined all decedents found after Helene, making a previous tally by Buncombe County seem to be an overcount.

At the end of the day Friday, the food and water distribution sites at North Windy Ridge Intermediate School and Estes Elementary School will close to support school reopening. There will be no other changes to water and food sites or community care stations over the weekend.
