TV’s original Laura Ingalls is speaking out about Netflix’s plans to reboot Little House on the Prairie. In an interview with EW, Melissa Gilbert, aka the Laura in the long-running NBC series from 1974-1984,

A Little House on the Prairie reboot is heading to our TV screens in a “reimagined” way! Fans received the news in January 2025 that “a new generation will have its own version” of the “treasured novels” on Netflix.

The actress says the original "Little House on the Prairie" was "Michael Landon's interpretation" of Laura Ingalls Wilder's beloved novels.
