Hello Games announced the latest No Man's Sky update, Worlds Part II, a free download available on all platforms that the developer says will add "trillions of new planets and billions of new solar systems.

To tie all of the new goodies together, No Man's Sky is bringing a new lighting system with the Worlds Part 2 update. This adds an ethereal quality to parts of the game, especially around the water. Any body of water accurately reflects what goes on in the skybox, making sunsets or starry nights more romantic.

Now in its ninth year, the overwhelmingly expansive sci-fi survival sim No Man’s Sky is transforming yet again. Another massive overhaul to the look and feel of its planets and solar systems has arrived in the form of the new Worlds Part II update.

Despite No Man's Sky having just released a gargantuan update in its ninth year, Hello Games still says it's "extremely busy" working on its new multiplayer open-world survival RPG Light No Fire. Hello Games founder Sean Murray revealed the contents of the latest No Man's Sky update in a new blog post.
