In a season with sky-high expectations on a program that always has eyes on it, an unexpected giant question mark has just appeared.

Arch Manning looked great while Quinn Ewers was out, but when Ewers was ready to play again, he returned to his duties as QB1 of the team. Ewers came back for the rivalry game against Oklahoma, and after a slow start, he led the team to a dominant win over the Sooners. Texas won the game 34-3, and all was well.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian made headlines by benching Quinn Ewers, his three-year starting quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate. In his place, Sarkisian decided to put in Arch Manning, the former No. 1 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.
