Atari and Nightdive Studios brought back a PS2 horror game last year in the form of The Thing: Remastered. Based on the beloved 1982 John Carpenter film, it was a surprise the Washington-based developer was bringing back the 2002 cult classic.

“The Thing: Remastered was well-received by critics and players alike and became Nightdive Studios’ fastest-selling title at launch across all digital PC and console storefronts,” Atari wrote.

New financial reports indicate that The Thing: Remastered is Nightdive Studios’ fastest-selling launch title ever. Nightdive Studios is well-known for the quality of its remasters, and it seems that The Thing: Remastered has surpassed expectations, being a huge hit for the developer.
